Our state-of-the-art testing equipment is the Land & Sea’s DYNOmite Chassis Dynamometer, this systems combines sophisticated data-acquisition electronics with DYNO-MAX PRO™ software for accurate, repeatable, and safe horsepower testing. This system utilizes dual tandem-rollers for stable testing and eddy-current absorption brakes for load simulations.
Two-wheel drive vehicle are tested on the mechanically linked dual tandem-rollers utilizes a few technologies to make it safe while maximizing traction. The dual roller allow the wheel to sit naturally down between the rollers and not wander around. While under load the traction is shared with both rollers because they are mechanically linked, thus having twice the contact patch and traction. The larger twelve inch rollers allows for better traction and less stress on the tires.
Four-wheel drive vehicles are tested with a second identical roller assembly. The front and rear assembly is electronically synchronize to each other through the ultra-responsive electronic load controls. The wheel base is adjustable to allow the front and rear wheel to properly sit in the valley of the rollers.
The work horse of this system are the eddy current load absorption brakes. There are no mechanical friction brakes to fade or wear. It uses the same type of magnetic energy strong enough to control the speed of locomotives, buses, and semi-trucks during mountain decent and assist in braking. Strong enough to stop a locomotive, but when coupled to sophisticated electronics it has the fineness to hold any targeted load or rpm to precisely calibrate your vehicle for the best torque in all ranges of its power.
The best part is the sophisticated data-acquisition electronics and the analytical software. It has 28-channels that can be used with an array of sensors. The most commonly used is the automated weather station, inductive RPM pickup, air-fuel ratio mapping, and boost mapping. The analytical and control software is amazingly flexible and is only limited by the imagination of the technician and how to use all the data collected. This is the same top of the line electronic system used in their famous engine room to fully map out and calibrate to the full power spectrum of an engine.
